Jennie Fowler
Jennie’s path to design began long before her formal education — rooted in an early life spent at 9,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies where days were shaped by nature, art, and music. Her parents, both creatives, fostered a world of exploration and imagination. Much of her instinct for spatial composition and atmosphere traces back to those years: the rhythm of aspen canopies, the play of light across stone, and the sense of quiet awe that comes from wide views and open sky.
After an early pursuit in the healing arts, Jennie followed a growing curiosity for the built environment, studying at the New York School of Interior Design before joining the renovation team of a small luxury hotel — an experience that confirmed her calling. She later settled in Portland, Oregon, where she contributed to the interiors of celebrated projects while working with Allied Works, Bora Architecture & Interiors, and Hacker. At Hacker, she served as Director of Interior Design, establishing and growing the firm’s interiors practice.
In 2022, Jennie founded Fowler Interior Design — a studio devoted to creating spaces that balance social impact with beauty and craft. Among just about every project type in her career, her portfolio now spans healing environments, permanent supportive housing, and single-family homes, including an award-winning trauma-care project recognized for its sensitive approach to creating spaces that support well-being and dignity.
Today, her practice continues to pursue work that is quietly powerful — rooted in collaboration, guided by story, and shaped by a lifelong reverence for connecting to nature.
