Fowler Interior Design is a small design studio led by Jennie Fowler, who brings with her 25+ years of experience — having designed and directed award-winning work at renowned architecture practices in New York City and Portland. The mission of the studio is to create work that centers the human experience. Deep collaboration with clients is our hallmark.

From private homes to public institutions, workplace, hospitality or multi-family, we are seeking a meaningful process with every client and team, so we can together reveal the deeper concept or story, and allow design decisions to be guided by that investigation. We are deeply passionate about:

The importance of integrating all disciplines. Architecture, interior design, graphic design, landscape architecture, art – and the craftspeople that make it all happen.

Design at all scales. From signage, accessories, hardware and furniture to the larger architectural interventions, all elements have equal value and are addressed with the same passion and attention to detail.

Starting from square one. We thoroughly explore, research and investigate to truly understand the aesthetic and functional goals desired for each unique client. No two clients are alike and we particularly love the initial stages of getting to know you.

Spatial justice. Inclusivity and equality are only possible in the built environment if the spaces being created are accessible to everyone. Having diverse voices throughout design leads to this outcome.

Sustainability. This is the baseline for every project. We are not interested in disposable design, but rather, intentionally creating spaces that promote health and wellbeing, protect resources, reduce waste — and stand the test of time.
